Flan is considered one of the most frequently prepared dishes in the Maghreb countries, as it can be prepared and prepared in several ways and stuffed with many different ingredients such as almonds, caramel, orange, broccoli, cauliflower, and chocolate. Preparing flan with caramel
The components
Two large cans of concentrated and sweetened milk.
Four cups of water. Seven large eggs.
One and a half tablespoons of liquid vanilla.
A teaspoon of fine orange zest. Three or four
tablespoons of orange juice.
A cup of
ground almonds.
A cup of
whipped cream.
A quantity of
mixed fresh fruit pieces
Caramel layer ingredients:
A third of a
cup of sugar.
Four tablespoons of water.
How to prepare
Install the
middle wire rack, and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. We use a metal
or glass cake pan with a capacity of at least eight cups.
Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan, and put
it over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and becomes a dark caramel color.
Pour it into the mold, then leave it aside. Place the almonds in a deep bowl,
then add a cup of water, juice, and orange zest to it, and leave it aside for
about fifteen minutes until the almonds become soft and smooth. Place the milk
in a deep bowl, add the remaining water, eggs, and vanilla, and mix using a
hand whisk until the milk is well mixed with the eggs.
Filter the milk and egg mixture using a fine
strainer, add it to the almond mixture, stir well, then pour the mixture over
the caramel layer in the mold.
Place the
mold in another high-rim tray and fill it with hot water to a height of one
inch from the sides of the flan mold.
